Case Study: Lab Freezer Transport
Client: University of Waterloo
Origin: University of Toronto
Timeline: April 13th-17th 2023
Transporting biological material inside ultra low temperature freezers is a complex process. Recently, we had the opportunity to transport 20 freezers from the University of Toronto to the University of Waterloo. In this case study, we will walk you through our process and how we ensured that the equipment arrived safely and on time.
STEP 1: PLANNING FOR TRANSPORT OF FREEZERS
STEP 2: COORDINATING WITH LAB PERSONNEL
STEP 3: SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT
STEP 4: REMOVAL OF FREEZERS
STEP 5: SAFE AND EFFICIENT LAB FREEZER TRANSPORT
Once on our specialized trailer, each freezer was plugged in noting down the current temperature to ensure there was minimal temperature loss. Each freezer was strapped to our e-track system to ensure safe and secure transport.
Upon delivery, each freezer was carefully placed in designated location once again noting down it's temperature. A freezers temperature journey is an important one particularly when dealing with potential life changing research. We acknowledge the significance of this information and take pride in providing comprehensive temperature journey records to all stakeholders.
