Armstrong Scientific recently completed a remarkable coast-to-coast journey, connecting laboratories and institutions across the vast expanse of Canada. As we reflect on this momentous adventure, we are thrilled to share the highlights of the final leg of our scientific transport campaign, filled with challenges, triumphs, and our unwavering commitment to advancing scientific progress.
Delivering to SickKids Hospital
We began where we left off in Montreal, where we packed two truckloads of invaluable scientific equipment and freezers. With the freezers plugged in during transport, we ensured the preservation and integrity of their precious specimens. Our destination was the SickKids Hospital in downtown Toronto, a hub of groundbreaking pediatric research. Navigating the bustling streets of downtown Toronto presented its own set of challenges, but our experienced team conquered every obstacle. We take immense pride in supporting moves that drive scientific advancements, especially when it comes to pediatric research that holds the promise of transforming young lives.
Packing and Loading in Halifax
Continuing eastward, we set our sights on Halifax, where we picked up a shipment of freezers and incubators from Dalhousie University. Among the incubators were tiny occupants of great importance: fruit flies used for critical research purposes. At Armstrong Scientific, we understand the significance of these delicate creatures and took exceptional care to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the journey. Our ability to adapt to various types of laboratories and research is a testament to our commitment to serve a diverse range of scientific disciplines.
Scientific Transport Across the Country
Next on our itinerary was the University of Guelph, where we collected another shipment of freezers. Here, we showcased the impressive capacity of our specialized trailer, capable of accommodating up to 15 freezers without encountering any power draw issues. This remarkable feature allows us to support large-scale freezer moves or transport freezers for multiple clients at once, providing seamless plug-in services that ensure the preservation of valuable scientific assets.
In addition to freezers, we also expertly handled and transported cryogenic materials, including liquid nitrogen dewars. Our extensive experience and expertise in managing such sensitive and hazardous substances are a testament to our commitment to handle every aspect of scientific transport with the utmost care and professionalism.
As our journey progressed, both the shipments from Guelph and Halifax found their way to the beautiful province of Alberta. From this point, our trailer embarked on a westward route, heading towards Vancouver. Our destination was the University of British Columbia, where we loaded yet another shipment of equipment and freezers. It marked the finale of our coast-to-coast journey, symbolizing the remarkable connections we have forged and the scientific advancements we have supported along the way.
Delivering to CAMH and Coming Home
With the shipment from UBC safely aboard, our trailer embarked on its homeward journey, destined for The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto. Covering thousands of kilometers from British Columbia to the city we call home, our month-long campaign reached its fulfilling conclusion. This unforgettable adventure began with a clear vision—to support and elevate the scientific community.
