About Our Laboratory Transportation Services
At Armstrong Scientific Transport, we understand that laboratories have a range of different needs regarding equipment, operational standards and timelines. Armstrong Scientific Transport is uniquely qualified to handle all aspects of your relocation and to achieve the highest standards while doing so.
The relocation process begins with a pre-move survey, which will be used to determine the scope of your lab and the type of equipment and materials that are present. A specific set of protocols are then used based on this information.
For hazardous materials, for example, special permits and an Emergency Response Assistance Plan may be necessary. For chemical moves, a completed inventory of all chemicals is required from the client in advance of the move.
Armstrong Scientific Transport uses specialized packing techniques and materials depending upon the equipment (for example, microscopes and centrifuges). Packing materials range from SpeedPaks, bubble wrap, anti-static plastic bags and double walled boxes.
The same holds true for refrigerator and freezer moves. For refrigerator moves, items are stored in a cooler; freezers are typically hooked up to power with the contents remaining inside the freezer during transportation.
Please note that at every point of the relocation, including during transportation, there will be a crew member attending each piece of equipment – it is never left unattended at any point of the move.
